Gregg Shannon has more than four decades of investigative experience, with a career focused primarily on insurance fraud, workers’ compensation, liability, and surveillance-based investigations.
He began his investigative career in the early 1980s, working undercover and in field roles for established investigative agencies before moving into supervisory and management positions. Over the course of his career, he has worked with insurance carriers, SIU units, self-insured employers, third party administrators, defense and family law attorneys, public and private entities across the United States.
After managing teams of investigators earlier in his career, Gregg chose to operate as a specialist-led practice rather than a volume-driven agency.
That decision was intentional.
Large investigative firms often rely on junior field staff or subcontractors, which can lead to inconsistent quality, missed details, and reports that lack useful insight. By handling investigations personally, Gregg maintains consistency, accountability, and a clear understanding of each case from start to finish.
Knowing when to stay on surveillance, when to reposition, and when continued surveillance is productive is key to delivering credible work.
Decades of fieldwork have shaped a practical, judgment-driven approach focused on relevance and defensibility. Surveillance and reporting are guided by what will actually help a claims professional make decisions, not by arbitrary time or volume targets.
Insurance Fraud Specialists works primarily with:
Cases typically involve workers’ compensation, disability, liability, and fraud-related matters where accuracy, discretion, and defensible evidence are critical.
Most engagements begin with a brief case discussion to determine whether investigation or surveillance is appropriate. When retained, the same investigator conducts the work and prepares the report, ensuring continuity and clear communication throughout the assignment.
Gregg Shannon holds investigative licensure in multiple states and has worked insurance-related cases across a wide geographic footprint over the course of his career.
Licensure has included states such as Alabama, Arizona, California, Florida, Montana, New Mexico, Oregon, and Utah, as well as jurisdictions that do not require formal private investigator licensing.
Investigations are conducted only where properly licensed or legally permitted, including through applicable reciprocity provisions and case-specific authorizations.
Primary service focus is the Florida Panhandle and surrounding states, with selective out-of-state assignments accepted when case needs and value justify travel.
